We are a small, quaint church that began in October of 1958. Within a few short years, an education building was built, and a full-time daycare was started. Over the next several decades as the church continued to grow so did their ministries. In the early 90's, Isle of Palms Baptist Church partnered with Agape Ministries to serve breakfast to those in need in downtown Charleston. They were also involved in the Wild Dunes' Resort Ministry where they held 'Worship by the Sea' for homeowners and vacationers in the summer months. The church has been a vital part of the island community and the surrounding Charleston area for over sixty years.
In 1989 when Hurricane Hugo hit Isle of Palms, contractors turned the upstairs of the education building into living quarters while they helped families rebuild their homes on the island. The classrooms and offices were transformed into bedrooms and bathrooms and a nice sized kitchen and large great room were added.
Through The Lord's vision, we have taken what those contractors started over thirty years ago and have updated the space for families and church organizations to use for vacation. It is a beautiful place to relax, and we are excited for others to enjoy it, as well!
